As a Residential Care Officer, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support to residents in a residential care setting. Responsibilities:
*Provide compassionate and person-centered care to residents in accordance with their care plans and individual needs.
*Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
*Monitor residents’ physical and emotional well-being, and report any changes or concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals.
*Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and maintain accurate medication records.
*Assist with meal planning, preparation, and serving, ensuring residents’ dietary needs are met.
*Coordinate and participate in recreational activities, social programs, and other therapeutic interventions.
*Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including assisting with housekeeping and laundry tasks.
*Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting social interaction and engagement.
*Collaborate with other members of the care team, including nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for residents.
*Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, regulations, and standards of practice.
Requirements:
*Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability, or Community Services.
*Previous experience working in a residential care setting, preferably with elderly or vulnerable populations.
*Demonstrated knowledge of person-centered care principles and practices.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
*Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and infection control measures.
*Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
*Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor towards residents and their families.
*Current First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain).
