Residential Care Officer

• Monitor residents’ physical and emotional well-being, and report any changes or concerns to appropriate healthcare professionals.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and maintain accurate medication records.
• Assist with meal planning, preparation, and serving, ensuring residents’ dietary needs are met.
• Coordinate and participate in recreational activities, social programs, and other therapeutic interventions.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including assisting with housekeeping and laundry tasks.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, promoting social interaction and engagement.
• Collaborate with other members of the care team, including nurses, allied health professionals, and support staff, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for residents.
• Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, regulations, and standards of practice.

Requirements:

• Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Disability, or Community Services.
• Previous experience working in a residential care setting, preferably with elderly or vulnerable populations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of person-centered care principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
• Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and infection control measures.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor towards residents and their families.
• Current First Aid and CPR certifications (or willingness to obtain).
