We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Developmental Disability Nurse. In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans. You will work closely with patients, their families, and interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal health and well-being for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities:

*Provide comprehensive nursing care to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.

*Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans that address physical, emotional, and social needs of patients with developmental disabilities.

*Administer medications, perform procedures, and provide treatments as ordered by physicians or other healthcare providers, and monitor patient responses to interventions.

*Monitor and manage complex health conditions, including but not limited to epilepsy, gastrostomy tube care, tracheostomy care, and behavioral health management.

*Provide education and support to patients, families, and caregivers regarding management of developmental disabilities, including promoting self-care, independent living skills, and optimal health outcomes.

*Document assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in electronic health records (EHR) or other relevant medical software.

*Collaborate with other healthcare providers, such as physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients with developmental disabilities.

*Participate in ongoing education and professional development to maintain current knowledge and skills in developmental disability nursing.

*Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and hospital policies and procedures.

Requirements:

*Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Sydney’s nursing regulatory body.

*Minimum of [Insert number of years] years of experience in nursing, with a focus on developmental disability nursing.

*Knowledge and understanding of developmental disabilities, including common health conditions, medications, and management strategies.

*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.

*Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
