REGISTERED NURSE (AGED CARE)

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse with experience in aged care to join our team. As a Registered Nurse in our aged care facility, you will provide high-quality nursing care to elderly residents, promoting their physical and emotional well-being, and ensuring their safety and comfort. Your expertise in geriatric nursing, strong clinical skills, and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team will contribute to providing optimal care to our residents.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to elderly residents in our aged care facility, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of their care plans.
• Administer medications, wound care, and other treatments as prescribed, and monitor residents’ responses to interventions.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support, as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, care aides, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized care plans based on residents’ needs and preferences.
• Monitor and document residents’ condition and progress, and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare provider.
• Provide emotional support and education to residents and their families, and involve them in the care planning process.
• Ensure residents’ safety and well-being by following infection control protocols, fall prevention measures, and other safety guidelines.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, care conferences, and other team meetings to ensure coordinated and holistic care for residents.
• Provide guidance and supervision to care aides and other support staff as needed.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in geriatric nursing and aged care through continuing education and professional development.

Requirements:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with Sydney’s nursing regulatory body.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in aged care or geriatric nursing.
• Strong clinical skills in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with elderly residents, families, and other healthcare providers.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, with a focus on promoting the well-being and dignity of elderly residents.
• Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other relevant medical software.
