As a Fitter, you will play a key role in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical components and systems. Your expertise in interpreting engineering drawings, using hand and power tools, and ensuring the functionality of mechanical equipment will contribute to the overall success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Mechanical Assembly:
    • Assemble mechanical components and systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate assembly.
  2. Installation and Maintenance:
    • Install and commission mechanical equipment, ensuring proper alignment and functionality.
    • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on machinery to identify and address issues proactively.
  3. Blueprint Reading:
    • Interpret and work from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  4. Precision Measurement:
    • Use precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify the accuracy of assembled components.
  5. Welding and Fabrication:
    • Conduct basic welding and fabrication tasks as required for the assembly and repair of mechanical structures.
  6. Quality Control:
    • Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet specified standards.
    • Report any defects or deviations from specifications to the supervisor.
  7. Safety Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
    • Implement safety measures during mechanical assembly and maintenance tasks.
  8. Collaboration:
    • Work collaboratively with other team members, including engineers and technicians, to achieve project goals.

Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar mechanical assembly role.
  2. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in using hand and power tools.
  3. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  4. Welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.
  5. Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  6. Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects as required.

Education: A high school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical training or a trade qualification in mechanical fitting is preferred.
